Mobility Work, the community-based and next-gen CMMS, raises 2 million euros from strategic partners to accelerate its commercial development and bring new features to its product.
Since 2016 Mobility Work has been offering a collaborative and 4.0 CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) based on the experience of applications that everyone downloads in daily life and that are so easy to use. The start-up, which has been incubated in an industrial group specialized in metallurgy, announced today that it has raised €2 million from strategic partners including Farinia (its incubator) and the giant Saint-Gobain (through its NOVA venture capital department).
This round of financing supports the growth of Mobility Work in Europe and internationally, with its large accounts and SME customers. It allows the startup to reinforce its commercial and technical teams by recruiting about fifteen senior profiles over the next two years.
By mid-2024, the objective is twofold. First, to double the number of customers equipped with the maintenance management application by adding value through new features and integrations with partner tools. Secondly, to help these customers save time and reduce the stress related to the subject of spare parts replenishment, thanks to an ordering tool connected to a large panel of suppliers.
Spin off from the Farinia group, Mobility Work has taken off
In 2016, the Fonderie Mécanique Générale Castelbriantaise (part of the Farinia group) incubated in its plant a brand new CMMS to meet 3 challenges faced by its maintenance teams: the mobility of technicians, the adoption of IT tools & communication between teams, between plants, and with suppliers.
Very quickly, word of mouth aroused the interest of other companies, and the founders of Mobility Work realized that the problems of FMGC were common to a very large number of companies.
“The global maintenance market is huge, it is worth over 600 billion euros. Technicians and maintenance managers have real pain points and the new technologies that surround us, combined with an innovative mindset, can provide many solutions. Our mission is to simplify the life of the maintenance teams by allowing them to collect and exploit the right data easily” declares Morgane Guinot, CEO of Mobility Work.
Today Mobility Work is deployed in nearly 350 plants, to which the startup brings a next gen, mobile, intuitive and community-based solution.
ISO 27001 certified, the application is used by large groups (about 25% of the CAC 40) as well as SMEs in various industrial sectors (Automotive, Construction, Aeronautics, Metallurgy, Plastics, Cosmetics, F&B, Energy, Pharmaceuticals, Packaging…) and provides a payback in 3 to 6 weeks.
“With Mobility Work, we have reduced by 50% the preparation time of maintenance interventions and by 15% the time spent in intervention. We have gained 10 points of machine availability” says Hervé Gestas, General Manager of Setforge, an early Mobility Work customer.
“The advantage of Mobility Work is the ease with which the solution wins over the technicians in the field and the speed of deployment. The solution is already solid, it has benefited from a valuable incubation within Farinia, which has allowed it to understand the users and to establish trustworthy links with other demanding industrial companies such as our plants at Saint-Gobain.
The industry is becoming more and more digitalized and the CMMS market is booming. The Mobility Work team is well positioned to take advantage of this opportunity and has the capacity to implement its plan” comments Claude-Sébastien Lerbourg, Director of Nova in Europe, the venture capital investment department of the Saint-Gobain group.
“When a piece of equipment breaks down, a company can lose tens or even hundreds of thousands of euros per minute,” says Morgane Guinot. It is essential to have a tool that allows teams to be as responsive and efficient as possible. Maintenance also plays an important role to answer the environmental, quality and safety stakes of companies.
Mobility Work has identified 6 main steps in the maintenance process: Request for intervention, Work order, Planning, Scheduling, Execution, Reporting & Continuous Improvement… 6 steps that the team considers fundamental to manage and optimize the maintenance activities. The Mobility Work application has been designed to provide the most appropriate tool to navigate through these 6 steps in a simple and efficient way, by connecting all the actors of the maintenance on a single platform, accessible on any device.
Performance through data sharing
Aware of the stakes and difficulties of the maintenance teams, Mobility Work places knowledge and information sharing, data monitoring and the simplification of the supply mechanisms at the heart of its next developments.
The interconnection of the various tools used by the customers is a must today and it brings a real added value. This is why Mobility Work is constantly working on building bridges between its CMMS and other solutions such as sensors or IOT platforms, BI tools, ERP, PDCA tools …
“We have chosen to build an ecosystem with strategic partners to improve performance,” says Morgane Guinot.
To achieve its goals, the startup is supported in its growth by investors involved since the beginning of the adventure (including Farinia), and others (including Saint-Gobain), who are joining today in this series A, with significant resources and a very good knowledge of the subjects that concern it.
