For almost 2 years, Mobility Work has been the central tool of maintenance management of the mechanical company CMC Chamant. Christophe Peckeu, maintenance and safety manager, agreed to explain to us all that the CMMS application brings to him daily.
Could you present the activity of your company and the functions you occupy?
CMC Chamant is a mechanical company: we manufacture various mechanical parts, with traditional or digital machines, for many sectors of activity and customers, as much for the farmers of our region as for large groups such as Saint-Gobain or ArcelorMittal, for the pharmaceutical industry, for aeronautics…
Our company employs about 70 people, including 3 people in the maintenance department. As far as I am concerned, I am responsible for maintenance in our workshop and safety on external sites.
What does Mobility Work do for you?
We use Mobility Work for all our internal maintenance activities, to supervise all our interventions on the machines. The application is very useful for tracking down the breakdowns that have already taken place, to know how long the interventions last, how much they cost us…
We also note in Mobility Work all the periodic maintenance, thanks to the maintenance plans.
We use it to allocate interventions, to track spare parts, to manage stocks. It is clearly our central IT tool.
I even use Mobility Work for the maintenance of our car fleet, thanks to the maintenance plans.
How did you manage maintenance before and how did the implementation of Mobility Work go?
Before adopting Mobility Work, we operated a lot by simple oral exchanges, and also with troubleshooting sheets. So there was not even a follow-up of the breakdowns.
The implementation was simple: I learned myself how to use the application quickly, and then I explained everything to my colleagues.

What does Mobility Work bring to you ? What are the most interesting advantages of this CMMS according to you?
First of all, it’s a very good memory aid, we can easily find the old breakdowns, so we have a good follow-up of the maintenance history.
It’s also very useful for inventory tracking and for the effective implementation of our preventive maintenance plans: the application reminds each technician of the preventive tasks he must perform. So we apply our preventive routines much better than before.
In addition, Mobility Work helps us to follow the costs of maintenance, to adopt a continuous improvement approach, etc. The indicators provided by the application serve as a kind of maintenance barometer.
As a maintenance manager, I also use the mobile application a lot, for example when I’m on the road, which allows me to do the same follow-up work as if I were on site.
Finally, when we have questions or a problem, the support team responds quickly, and as soon as there are changes in the application, we are informed, and it’s clear every time.
Thank you very much to Mr. Peckeu for taking the time to answer our questions!
