Since 2018, Danone, one of the world’s leading food manufacturers, has been using Mobility Work CMMS in several of its plants and sites, spread across several countries. The latest Danone plant to join the Mobility Work community is the DANONE Produits frais Le Molay-Littry plant. Gilles Noël, Industrial Performance Engineer, agreed to talk about this deployment.
Can you tell us about your company and your job title? How long have you been with the company?
Hello, my name is Gilles NOEL and I’ve been Performance Engineer at Danone since October 2022. I work at the Le Molay-Littry plant, which employs around 150 people and mainly manufactures Lait 2 vaches, petit suisse, Danette pop, Danonino… products.
What are the main maintenance challenges specific to your sector and your company?
At Danone, the main challenges we face are related to safety and food quality, which includes equipment cleanliness, compliance with food standards and machine reliability. Maintenance helps to minimize downtime and ensure continuous production on our lines. It is also essential to carry out all Food Safety preventive maintenance on time, and to keep a history of interventions for traceability and continuous improvement.
All you need to know about CMMS
How did you manage your maintenance before you started using Mobility Work?
Before using Mobility Work, we were using another CMMS to track preventive maintenance and spare parts stocks, and a separate communication tool to keep track of the history of interventions.
How did the adoption of Mobility Work go at your company?
The interface of Mobility Work application enabled us to adapt to the tool very quickly. Unlike other tools, it’s easy to connect and the learning curve is very short. Moreover, the fact that we can group all our needs in a single tool is a big help in the adoption phase.
What were your main criteria when choosing a CMMS solution?
Ease of use! But also the traceability of the history of interventions for each piece of equipment, a view of the workload for each employee, the criticality of our equipment and reliable stock tracking.
What are the key features you use in Mobility Work? ?
- Task creation
- Follow-up/history of interventions
- Spare parts location
- Spare parts inventory tracking
- Monthly expenses
In your opinion, what is the main added value of the Mobility Work CMMS application?
The User-friendly interface!
For companies considering adopting a CMMS solution, what advice would you give, based on your experience with Mobility Work?
I would advise them to :
- define their needs, and come and see how the CMMS works in other plants. That’s the best way to really see the advantages/disadvantages of different tools, depending on your needs.
- look at the compatibility of CMMS with other tools and software already in use in their plant
- carry out an Agile deployment so as to use the tool quickly and accelerate the adoption phase.
Many thanks to Gilles NOEL for taking the time to answer our questions!
